A Small clip taken from the History Channel documentary "The Last Stand of the 300". In about a minute, the documentary makes it clear that Phillip UNITED the Greek city-states, and that Alexander spread GREEK culture to the east, and how GREEK culture flourished to shape the modern Western world. "...Eventually Phillip of Macedon takes this one step further, and UNIFIES THE GREEK CITY-STATES INTO A SINGLE COUNTRY. With this UNIFIED COUNTRY, Phillip's son Alexander destroys the Persian Empire, and exports GREEK CULTURE throughout the world, introducing the vanquished to GREEK POLITICS, LAW, LITERATURE, PHILOSOPHY, AND ART..." "...ALL OF THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE HAD GREECE REMAINED NOTHING MORE THAN A SET OF SEPARATE CITY-STATES, BUT IT HAD BECOME ONE NATION, A SENSE OF NATIONALISM..." (both quotes taken from this clip) Clearly, Phillip did not CONQUER Greece, he UNIFIED Greece, made the city-states one, and created a strong sense of nationalism among the Greek peoples. It is also made clear (if it wasn't already) that Alexander did indeed spread Greek culture to the far depths of the known world. Clearly, Macedonia = Greek, and you Bulgar-Slavs from FYROM need to get your own history and not steal our glorious past.
