When Chinese troops occupied Tibet in the 1950s they did not just take political and military supremacy over a country, but they also started a cultural genocide with the final goal to extinguish Tibetan identity.
China killed and deported Tibetans, their homes were destroyed, their language, culture and identity was replaced by the Chinese langauge and communistic chinese ideals. The Tibetan way of living was and still is supressed by an inhuman Chinese regime.
When the Sovietunion occupied the Baltic states a series of deportations and killings begun. Thousands of Balts were killed or deported to Sibiria. The Baltic languages were replaced by the Russian language (Russian became the official language) and the baltic culture and identity ought to be replaced by the soviet-communistic ideals. To ensure that this plan would be succesful, the Soviet regime moved people from elswhere in the Sovietunion, mainly Russians, to the Baltic states. You can call this process also "Russification".
Luckily for the Baltic people the Sovietunion collapsed and the Baltic states could save their culture and their own identity.
Exactly the same happens now in Tibet. The Chinese regime supresses the Tibetan culture and enforces Chinese settlement in Tibet. No need to say, that those "new Tibetans" (in fact they were, are and will always stay Chinese) have every privilege one can imagine.
Unfortunately for the Tibetans the Chinese regime shows no sign of collapsing, exactly the opposite happens: Western governments and companies are keen to make business with and in China and in this way they all support the total exstinction of the Tibetan people and their identity. But maybe that does no matter to the people in the West, as long as they can consume their cheap products, "Made in China".
Right now China is succesfully destroying the Tibetan culture.
It is a cultural genozide on the Tibetans and it is comparable to the Holocaust. The only difference is, that the first will be succesful, if it continues like this.
I personally will not only boycott these Olympic Games in China, I will also try not to buy Chinese products (in fact I'm already doing that).
If there is any real sportsman or sportswoman, he or she will not participate in the Olympic games in China. They are as false as Hitler's Olympic games 1936 in Berlin.
But probably most of the athletes are only interested in themselves, so their own success counts more than a small, suppressed people.
One must not forget, that the Chinese regime is not only oppressing the Tibetans, it is also oppressing other cultures within China and not caring about humanrights, not even for their own people.
These companies support the slaughtering in Tibet and other parts of China.
It is all in your hands: Can you buy their products with a good mind?!
